Is photography a reflection of reality or an escape from it?
Abstract
This is a proposal of research seeking to look at the specific art of photographic evidence with consideration to its remarkable, intellectual, and societal origins and the interrelations. The issue here is how images in various circumstances express particular aspirations and representational aims, not just in terms of their substance and iconography but also by means of the official and visual production of evidence. Introduction and Background
Financial management has a lot to do with decision-making. Several decisions have to be made in different levels and phases of investment, corporate financing, asset management, and apportionment of dividends. Investment decisions are mainly centered on three areas, namely opening of new ventures, expansion of existing business ventures, and replacement of existing machinery or introduction of new technology. Investment decisions are succeeded by financing decisions. (more…)

Hills Like White Elephants and No One’s a Mystery Stories – Exploration of Love, Relationships and Romance
Ernest Hemingway’s Hills like White Elephants short story compares with Elizabeth Tallent’s No One’s a Mystery brief narrative in that both works look at the concepts of love, relationships, and romance. Within Hills like White Elephants, Hemingway indicates that heterosexual love is usually unrequited by the male party. The writer also shows that heterosexual romance typically harms ladies. Further, Hemingway indicates that heterosexual relationships are normally exploitative toward women. The author advances the aforementioned arguments based on the relationship that an unnamed male American has with a lady who is named Jig. (more…)
Facts leading to the 1860 Presidential Election and the Outcome
Schisms dominated American society prior to its independence, and particularly in the 19th century. The country manifested many disparities largely built upon geographical realities and ideological factors such as slavery, economic policies, and supremacy between the states and the union. These divergences influenced the policies of the major political parties during the elections of 1860 and spurred the civil war that arose shortly after. The same factors continued to influence the country’s political thought and patterns after the civil war period. (more…)
1. Also referred as the invisible hand theorem, it holds that any competitive equilibrium results to a Pareto efficiency in resource allocation. Pareto efficiency is achieved when there is no further room for improvement, meaning that it is at optimum efficiency level. The central idea in the First Fundamental Theorem is that markets can create a situation of social optimum in which no government intervention is required. Under such circumstances, the government should implement leissez faire policies. However, proponents of government regulations hold that the assumptions required to achieve this theorem are not achievable in real life situations. Notably, a situation where a single economic player holds all the goods at the expense of the rest exemplifies Pareto efficiency but is not a perfect situation under welfare economics. (more…)

What is Health Information Management (HIM)? What is the Role of Health Electronic Records in HIM Nowadays?
Introduction
Health Information Management (HIM) is an important practice in the health sector. Managing health information plays a major role in ensuring that records are properly stored and can be retrieved whenever required by relevant authorities. In the past, HIM entailed the use of traditional paper work, in which patients’ health records were stored in hard copies. However, paper-based Health Information Management has since been replaced by the electronic system with a view of increasing efficiency. Research indicates that lack of proper health management system by various health institutions leads to many unnecessary deaths. According to the Institute of Medicine, almost 100,000 patients die annually in the US due to lack of complete patient information (Valerius, 2007). (more…)
In my recent political science essay, I was writing about principles of good leadership. The class readings focused on possible causes of the Arab Spring. Initially, I thought that activists who were not pleased by autocratic leadership in their countries instigated the uprising. However, I discovered that there were foreign forces behind the demonstrations.
Although there is a lot of information concerning the uprising, the mass media sources are the least effective. Newspapers, magazines, and television houses are telling ordinary stories that are biased to show that the governments of respective countries such as Syria, Egypt, and Libya among other countries affected by the uprising are to blame for the deaths of their people. In order to avoid bias, I had to use new strategies of looking for information. (more…)
