“The philosophy of life
The reality of life and the living nature of human beings is proof of the existence of the soul. The soul is a phenomenon so to speak, that cannot be defined but can only be described in order for its nature to be understood, which will be the main point of this essay. The process of proving the existence of the soul entails describing not only the various aspects of the soul but ultimately the soul itself.
A case for the existence of the soul as advanced by Melinda and the counter arguments from Melissa
Plato educates, on how to approach a quest in epistemology and advices that one should take one of the following modes. The first one it would be to establish, which opinion is true. In case that is not possible establish which is like to be true. If that fails, he states then establish the facts that are false and further should that not bear fruit establish the ones that are likely to be false. Plato then notes the view Socrates took on the relationship of opposite in order to prove the existence of the soul. A good example would be darkness, as being the absence of light. It is an agreed fact that the soul is the presence of life. Socrates takes on the opinion the soul does not exist, one that is contrary to what he wants to prove. Socrates takes this to mean that the non-existence of the soul would mean all things are dead since there would be no conversion of life to death. Melinda could then state that since there is presence of life, means there is the process of conversion to death when the soul departs and therefore, the soul exists when one is alive…“
